Phonak EON: Three advances shaping the next generation of hearing technology
EON brings advanced signal processing, a more efficient HYPERSONIC™ chip and broader connectivity into a smaller RIC design for comfortable everyday wear.
The world around us is loud, dynamic, and more connected than ever, creating real challenges for following conversations and enjoying everyday moments. At the same time, it creates opportunities for better hearing solutions.
EON was created to turn powerful next-generation processing into meaningful everyday benefits for both clinicians and hearing aid wearers.
People want hearing solutions that simplify life, not complicate it. EON is designed to do that by supporting clearer conversations, less listening fatigue, dependable connections, and a design that fits comfortably into daily routines.
These advances come together to shape the EON experience:
Adaptive Clarity
Clarity can make the difference between guessing and knowing, and between simply following a conversation and fully taking part in it. When speech is clearer, conversations can flow more naturally, with less need to ask for repetition.
With EON, this experience is shaped by adaptive clarity, made possible by four new advanced features that are unique to EON.
EON uses both the ERA and new HYPERSONIC chips to bring together Spheric Speech Clarity 3.0, AutoSense OS AI 8.0, WindBlock 2.0, and APD 4.0 in a single hearing aid for the first time. These features work together so the hearing aid can respond more intelligently as listening conditions change.
At its core, adaptive clarity combines on-device speech-from-noise separation with intelligent adjustments that help preserve fidelity and audibility as the environment changes. Rather than relying on individual features working in isolation, the system coordinates how and when they are applied to support clearer access to speech while maintaining a natural listening experience.
This adaptation happens automatically, removing the need for clients to think about changing programs as they move through different listening environments during the day.
Unlimited connections
Connectivity must be simple and reliable, especially in a world where the possibilities of connections accelerate at an incredible pace.
EON continues Phonak’s “Made for All” approach, allowing connections with virtually any Bluetooth® device, and now expands to include Auracast™ broadcasts, opening access to public broadcasts in theaters, museums, and venues and supporting private streaming at home.
Complemented by Roger™ technology, which provides additional support for hearing across distance, EON is the only hearing aid offering this variety of connectivity options
Together, these options give hearing care professionals greater confidence that there is a connectivity solution available for a wide range of listening needs. With EON, the principle is simple: “If it can be streamed, you can connect to it.”
Intuitive design
Every aspect of EON’s design, from size and comfort to intuitive charging, has been carefully considered to enhance accessibility and user experience. Comfort can influence how consistently hearing aids are worn. A smaller and lighter device can support greater comfort for clients throughout the day.
Phonak EON is 25% smaller and 20% lighter than the previous generation. It provides up to 38 hours of use on a single charge while maintaining a compact receiver-in-canal form factor.
The Phonak ChargerGo RIC I EON includes an integrated power pack, allowing clients to recharge their hearing aids when they are away from a power source. This may be useful during travel or on days when access to charging is limited.
The design approach also extends to the fitting process. Target 12.0 includes an updated feedback test that can automatically apply up to 6 dB of additional headroom. This may reduce the need for further manual adjustments and allow more of the appointment to be spent discussing the client’s listening needs.
Bringing it all together
EON is not a single feature; it’s a listening system removing limits through intuitive design. Smaller than ever and yet remarkably powerful, EON combines clarity that moves automatically with our most natural sound. Complemented by a “Made for All” connectivity experience, it allows users to connect to virtually any Bluetooth® device and delivers front-row audio with Auracast broadcast.
EON allows wearers to follow conversations, experience reduced listening effort, and stay engaged in the moments that matter with a device they may actually forget they’re wearing.
