Phonak continues to lead with freely accessible evidence

An updated analysis by an independent consultant compared freely accessible evidence across six major hearing aid brands. The results reinforce Phonak’s commitment to making evidence easy to find and practical to use in clinic.

At Phonak we are constantly striving to deliver the best technology possible. We also know that being able to explain benefits clearly, set expectations, and recommend solutions with confidence is critical. That’s why we invest in research and make a large share of it freely accessible online, so you can quickly find credible support for counseling and fitting decisions.

Phonak has a history of leading with evidence

A previous independent analysis,1 reviewed research publications listed across six hearing aid brands’ professional websites, along with two trade journals (Audiology Online and Hearing Review), covering August 2019 to October 2022. Phonak represented over one third of the number of identified publications, and also led in peer-reviewed journal articles, as well as other research  publication types, grouped together.

Updated analysis (Nov 2022 to Nov 2025)

An updated independent analysis2 looked into the number of freely accessible research publications across the same six brands’ professional websites, plus Audiology Online and Hearing Review, from November 2022 to November 2025.

Out of the 244 total publications identified, 79 (32%) were available from Phonak (Figure 1).

When results are viewed by year, Phonak shows a consistent lead with almost double the number of total publications compared to the nearest brand (Figure 2). The evidence spans a broad variety of topics, including Phonak Infinio platform benefits, pediatric solutions, and emerging research methods.

Why peer-reviewed evidence is crucial

Peer-reviewed journal articles represent a high standard of scientific rigor because methods and conclusions are evaluated by independent experts before publication.

In this analysis, Phonak had the highest number of independent peer-reviewed articles linked on its website and available to HCPs (Figure 3) with approximately four times as many as the nearest brand and twice as many as all key brands combined.
